Our Story – From Humble Beginnings to Trusted Brand
Vodana® was founded in 2015 by husband and wife team John and Mary Smith. As busy parents struggling to find time for self-care, they knew the frustration of trying to style hair quickly for work and family activities. Most tools took too long to use or didn’t give consistent results.
In their small home garage, John began tinkering with designs for curling and flat irons that would be fast, user-friendly, and create consistent curls and smooth styles. After months of prototyping, they finalized the designs for the first Vodana® curling and flat irons.
John and Mary started selling their tools online through their own website and Amazon. Word spread quickly about these innovative styling tools that delivered salon-caliber results in a fraction of the time. Over the next few years, Vodana® experienced tremendous growth. The company moved out of the garage into a facility to ramp up production.
